2nd Annual “All Things Advertising” Field Trip
A Glimpse into the World of Advertising
At Kismet of Kings, we believe in the power of exposure and experience as catalysts for growth and inspiration. Our second annual “All Things Advertising” Field Trip stands as a testament to this belief, offering our young men a window into the dynamic world of marketing and advertising.
A Day at Hearst Headquarters
Our journey began at the iconic Hearst headquarters in Manhattan. It was here that our young men delved into the intricacies of publishing and media sales. The day was packed with insights from industry leaders, including the head of sales and the head of employee engagement & belonging. Our group interacted with marketing professionals, casting directors, and the editorial minds behind Esquire and Men’s Health magazines.
The highlight was an interactive ad campaign planning session. Our young men brainstormed, created, and presented their visionary campaign ideas, complete with collage boards, to their peers and professionals. The creativity on display was nothing short of remarkable.
The exploration continued with a tour of the Good Housekeeping Institute. The visit to the product testing labs and production studios, along with the Delish magazine test kitchen, provided a tangible sense of the meticulous work behind the scenes.
Discovering the Creative Pulse at Publicis Groupe
The next stop was Publicis Groupe’s offices, where the vibrant atmosphere of a creative agency came to life. Our young men engaged with a diverse team from Le Truc and BBH, gaining insights from account managers, the Chief Creative Officer, strategists, copywriters, art directors, and more.
A sizzle reel showcasing the agency’s recent commercials and case studies sparked conversations about the creative process and the collaborative effort required to bring ideas to fruition. The day was sweetened with snacks and refreshments, adding to the warm welcome by the Publicis team.
Inspiration and Aspiration
This field trip was more than just a day out of the classroom; it was an inspiring immersion into the roles and skills that fuel the advertising industry. Our young men left with a deeper understanding of the hard work and soft skills needed to succeed in this fast-paced world. A HUGE shoutout to all of our amazing hosts!
